The Universe Inside an Equation

Art Book | The Universe Inside an Equation explores possibilities of algorithmic forms with newly developed formulas to create intricate worlds and surreal geometric landscapes and structures.

Whenever anyone thinks about the universe, sooner or later the idea of infinity comes to mind. The space surrounding us, both microcosm and macrocosm, extends to such a huge scale, that it is ungraspable to our puny human brains. Infinity is such an elusive concept.

The universe is infinite in its boundaries. You will find scattered realities inside equations.

AN ILLUSION OF COMPLEXITY COMPLEXITY OF AN ILLUSION

Whenever anyone thinks about the universe, sooner or later the idea of infinity comes to mind. The space surrounding us, both microcosm and macrocosm, extends to such a huge scale, that it is ungraspable to our puny human brains. Infinity is such an elusive concept.

Most people perceive the term "infinity" in a mathematical, philosophical, or religious sense. In the first case often like a series of numbers which could go on and on until the end of days and after, in the second and third cases like everything is possible. In our universe, as far as we know, infinity works a different way. You can have as many chimpanzees typing randomly as you can, the Shakespeare play will never materialize. Even with an infinite number of monkeys and infinite time.

Why is that? Well, basically because it is not the part of the equation. You can not slow down your muscle car until it stops... and then slow down more. Even with the best engine in the whole universe. The infinity in our reality is manifested only as a probabilistic option to fail.

We can only guess, that volume of visual data processed in our brain is huge. Any art is trying to explore the limits of perception.

Even with a simple formula, the results could be very complex. Similarly, very complex calculations can make simple results. In our equation, the final graphic representation is uninteresting or completely fails to visualize, in the reality of space some star explodes... or just nothing happens. The complexity of an image is taking an advantage of an old trick. It overloads our senses with visual information, and our brain is trying to pick some structure from it. This way, we can see a man on the Moon, pyramids on Mars... or an alien world in the images in this book.
